When we first met in 2006, Colt was making custom cowboy boots out of his garage in Lubbock, Texas, and Logan, originally from British Columbia, was studying art in Montreal. Colt had started making boots in 2004, when after college, he traded guitar lessons for apprenticing hours under a local bootmaker. In 2008, we moved to a cabin on Colt’s parents ranch where Colt made boots for local ranchers in an old airplane hanger. Logan started helping, and when we left the ranch, the notion that one day we might open a store together stayed with us.

In the winter of 2011 we were able to make our dream a reality. Today we make boots in our Cobra Rock Boot Company store in Marfa, Texas. There are just two of us, and every part of the boot we cut, hammer and stitch ourselves. We use full grain oil-tanned leather and equipment bootmakers have been using for over a century. Our boots are built on 1940s and 50s-era wooden lasts, hand welted, and soles and metal shanks are held in place with lemon-wood pegs.

We hope you visit our store in Marfa, and in the meantime take a look around our website.  We update the site with new boots, so please check back. You can stay in touch with us via facebook, twitter or email.
